I finally watched Eden of the East a few months back. I believe it is quite possibly one of my favorite animes of all time now. It just sucks it was so short.

Also, does anyone ever watch Zoids anymore? I remember watching it when I was little, but had completely forgotten about it until my fiance found it on YouTube a few days ago. Ah, good old childhood.

Oh yeah...Zoids was Awesome, but honestly, I feel as though I'll only ever really like Gundam.

Gundam will definitely always be my favorite when it comes to shows like that.

Never really was a big fan of Mech.
I did love the games for the PS1 though.
I suppose I can count Ghost in the Shell a Mech hybrid, regardless GITS is an outstanding anime.
I don't really think I have a favourite anime due to the fact each different anime brings a different
storyline, style and feeling to the table.
I know a lot of people will hate me (going to go mainstream here) but I really rate Bleach a high score.
The storyline, character development and the twisted plot all got me majorly addicted when it first came on UK TV through adult swim.
Not to mention the opening, ending themes and soundtrack within the whole series was brilliant.
I would have to say my favourite anime film will either have to be Akira or 5 center meters per second.
Makoto Shinkai really captures you in a great storyline mixed with some of the best drawn anime I've seen in my life. I can't begin to explain how beautiful the drawing and coloring is.
I'm not into soft story's about love but this is more then a romantice film, it's about separation and the feeling of life and people drifting further apart, something I can really relate to with old best friends and or ex's because I moved around a lot when I was younger.
Also the soundtrack for the film "One more time, one more chance" -Masayoshi Yamazaki"
....... dem feels !!

Bleh, Bleach... I never bothered with the anime and even stopped buying the manga. They just keep rehashing the same exact storyline and plot elements, it stopped being interesting to follow when you could predicts every single thing that was going to happen.

Speaking of anime, I just found that Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040 is on Netflix. I'm so happy I could cry.

I've always been a big Bleach Fan, and I like Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. But I honestly don't watch that much anime; I read more manga than anything.

Is it really that good? I've been thinking about checking the original.

It's not necessarily the quality of it that make me cry, but I liked it. I'm just happy as hell to get to watch it again.

It's a double-edge sword situation too, though: They took off High School of the DeadCrying or Very sad

They did? I wonder what that's all about. Hopefully they are still planning a second season.

I've actually watched the series myself since I posted that one. It's decent and had some funny moments. I'd say it's worth the watch if it fits your style. From what I know yu from the forums I'd say it fits yours. The story just starts real slow.

What exactly is the Anime about (briefly) ?
Also what kind of style of anime is it, action, comedy, romance, fantasy etc ?
I might check it out but from what I've seen from pictures it looks more directed towards the female audience.
I could be wrong though and images of the anime characters might be out of context in regards to the actual show.

On another note, I've just started watching a anime called the "get backers", I was skeptical that I would like it but it actually was pretty enjoyable.
I'm not to far into the anime so don't really know the back story on the two main characters but its a pretty decent watch.
Kind of like Cowboy bebop style but a little less serious and of coarse not as good.
The two main characters basically debt ridding guys that run a company that "get's back" (clever title of the anime, I know lol) lost possessions not matter what it is.
Sounds a little bland but I thought the same until I gave it a watch and it was pretty enjoyable.
Recently just watched "golden boy" for like the 100th time, such a hilarious anime from the late 90's, in fact I would go as far as to say it's one of the funniest animes
there ever has been, everybody should give it a watch as least once, there is only like 6 episodes anyway so it doesn't take long.
Second/third on my list for funniest anime I've ever watched is probably I MY ME ! strawberry eggs and desert punk, can't really chose between they two but I think
I would sway more towards desert punk as the characters and wacky adventures that happen during it, not to mention desert punks monologue and humour.

Don't let the style deceive you, it's seinen (targeted towards male audience) though I've seen a lot of girls enjoy it too. Anyway, it's romance/comedy with a bit of sci-fi and mystery thrown in. If comedy anime is your thing I'd suggest you try it out, though the comedy isn't as prominent as in most comedy series.

Yeah I thought I might have been a little deceived by the pictures.
It sounds like it would hold much interest, I will give it a watch.
Yeah almost all anime has some form of comedy thrown into it, even the serious shows just can't help with the slapstick
comedy or having a dopey character

Except this one actually has comedy as one of it's genres. I just meant that it's not as comedic as you'd think.

Y'know what? I noticed all the shows I really like aren't long. I like animes that are practically embarrassed to be around. Trigun, FLCL, Cowboy Bebop, they're no more than 26 episodes long. When it comes to long epics of shows spanning hundreds of episodes and multiple seasons defeats the purpose why I would prefer an anime over western cartoons; which would be a story, something most cartoons if not all don't really have.

So when a character has to power up for eight episodes long, or train for an entire season, the story seems to just dip out the window for a while.

Pokemon has over 800 episodes and over 15 movies I think. So y'know that's never going to end.

I also believe that Lupon the 3rd nor Case Closed ended in Japan. So yeah, that's ridiculous.
