Until RE5, the physics of the games were completely credible, however, the fifth installment has some rather implausible events that the entities involved could not possibly survive under any circumstances.

1) The chainsaw majini getting shot in the one eye he uses to see through his sack and recovering full sight in seconds (impossible: the eye could never regenerate that fast.

2) Ndesu taking thousands of rounds from two mg´s to his face. (Impossible: Ndesu would go blind and passing out from cranial trauma given prolonged exposure.)

3) Wesker not loosing part of his face and hands after the rocket he catches explodes. (impossible: an explosion at that range, with the warhead directly facing him, uncovered would have inflicted crippling damage on him.

Is any Resident Evil game practical?

The thing about the chainsaw applies to Resident Evil 4 as well, not just Resident Evil 5. There's countless things in the series, yes even the earlier games, that defy what's possible. Everyone in the earlier games somehow manages to survive countless attacks from any of the B.O.W.S. and can heal any wound by using a plant. And that's just the tip of it. I'm actually baffled that you would only mention how Resident Evil 5 is impractical. Resident Evil 5 is not the culprit of impossibilities in the Resident Evil series.

In the original games no matter how many times the player gets bitten or scratched by a zombie, they never contract the T-virus! :p

In Resident Evil, anything is possible...that's just how it works.

Leon can somehow jump off a 50 foot tower in the village without breaking his legs in RE4. In Remake Lisa is indestructible no matter how many bullets you fire.

Just like almost every zombie game ever made.

Indeed. I do not understand why more zombie games (especially Resident Evil) have not implemented an infection counter like the Outbreak series did, that was fantastic! I suppose it is because the characters are meant to go unscathed for plot purposes so they will not have antibodies. That bit in re3 with Jill getting infected was a shocker the first time I played back in the 90s.

Another thing I never understood is the insane reach of Alexia with her tentacles in CVX, stretching them all over the antarctic and all.

At least we can all agree on this. That's why I said in my reply that the idea of only Resident Evil 5 having unrealistic qualities isn't true.

There's also the issue of the PG-7VM warhead's arming distance, which is about 300 feet. I don't think, at any point during that battle, the player gets even remotely that far from him.

Yeah talk about infection, how about Rebecca getting completely covered in one touch and your dead leech's.
And yet somehow she survives and doesn't get instantly zombiefied like everyone else.

Then with ridiculously good aim Billy just shoots them all off of her, and that's a canon cinematic! not gameplay .

That could be rationalized as the rest of the leeches fleeing in terror after a few get popped.

She also gets bitten in the shoulder by a monkey, which appears to draw blood IIRC.

True, none of the heroes and heroines become zombies when they are bitten. A pity Capcom did not implement what they did in Outbreak, indeed. Also, yes, Leon jumping off a tower so tall is in no way plausible.

Also, what about Deborah getting shot in the head by Ada in RE6 by an arrow, which embedded itself deep in her forehead, presumably creating a solid blockage in her brain that wouldn't allow the fluids to flow properly and severely damaging the veins, thus rendering her brain dead? She shouldn't have recovered from that.
