Welcome stranger.
Your in for a treat, Resident Evil is one of the best franchises to get into in the gaming world.
Some say it's the godfather of survival horror which I fully agree.
What get you into the series and what games you own or played as of now ?

My first glimpse into the wonderful world of RE started in Jr High when my brother got Code Veronica. I admit it was very intimidating but I've been in love with horror ever since. I own RE 4 and plan on getting RE 5 and 6. Maybe a few others. I own Umbrella Chronicles ( Felt like getting a rail-shooter) but unfortunately haven't had the chance to beat either RE 4 or Chronicles.

Still, I've watched quite a bit of gameplay though, but I'm always up for slowly feeding my growing RE habit!

Who says that?

Definately get RE6, but you're missing out if you don't play the previous stuffs. I think RE1, CVX and RE6 are my top 3 RE games, not in any particular order.

I definitely want to give a bunch of the games a chance.

I'd just like to beat RE 4. It was my first RE game; and by first I mean the first I ever actually got to play, and it is my white whale. Tough hopefully I will be getting RE 5 sooner rather than later.

Welcome to this madness. My suggestion is that you get the Anthology/Archives version of RE6, depending on your console of choice. That way you get a whole bunch of RE games with just a bit over the price of regular RE6.

Quite a lot of people, especially the fans of horror games.

I love the beginning of RE4, when you first enter the village, one of the best openings in the series I think.

I like your avy.

Thanks. I do too. And I agree, despite the horror for me at first, being tossed into that situation. I was on cloud nine once I got my riot gun and my sniper rifle. Oh man....The things I've done with those guns....

The sniper was certainly a new way to take out enemies is Resident Evil4, it introduced a new dynamic to the game. But I believe Resident Evil 6's sniper mechanics need work. It seems way too shaky, even with the steady perks.

Oh right, I forgot Alfred had a sniper. But he was such a bad shot he may as well have just lost the scope. It didn't do him any good.

But now that you mention it that's another thing that bothers me about Resident Evil 6. You don't have total control of the game. The camera shifts wherever it wants you to look at, you can't modify your guns like you could in the last two games, the sniper only has two adjustments (Piers' sniper retical makes no sense and is so inaccurate,) and some options are scripted, forcing you to trigger annoying events that have no baring on what happens.

I kinda liked the occasional times where the camera was in front of you suddenly(Even if stupid camera got me killed a few times), and the occasional fixed angle. As for the weapon adjustments...guess it's a downgrade, but that wasn't something that bothered me.
It bugs me that I did have total control and they just took it away from me. A lot of aspects felt like a downgrade, and they just got the controls to go smoothly, too. I'm a bit peeved at that.
