That actually is what I'd call daddy longlegs. The daddy lonlegs the Mythbusters tested was the other spidery one.

I assume all spiders are hostile and venomous... I respond accordingly with ample doses of fire, screaming, and crying. Embarassed

I would hope so... It's the only logical response, after all. Maybe a little bit of peeing ones self if the spider is big enough.

if it's easy to squish then kill it!!! if it's as big as half of this text box then it's okay to scream! i'd only pee myself if i see spiders as big as the ones in RE...

i think you're right that all spiders are hostile and venomous

This forum has turned me into a 1950's housewife!! (yes it has changed my gender affraid ).

Literally 5 minutes ago spider crawled out of where I was hoovering in my room ... it stopped beside my packet of peanuts, so I did my usual and got some tissue to splat the little mofo (I am deadly afraid of them, but I have to kill them, because my fiance won't).

Anyways, I went to squish it with the tissue, but it was folder over awkwardly and flopped over before I took action. The resulting draft caused by the flopping tissue, caused the spider to crawl under my peanut bag. So, as is plainly obvious, I would have to stand on my peanut packet to squish the little bugger. I do this. I then lift my foot. The spider runs at the speed of particles in a Large Hadron Collider, towards my feet. I then scream in a way that only dogs can hear me, and jump up on a stool (still screaming).

The spider is now still on the loose somewhere in this room, and I am going to be on edge for the rest of the day. Damn you posters for bringing up spiders :O Razz

Quite big for Scotland. Usually we have to deal with like small to medium sized bitches, but this one is pretty massive :O

To answer Deagle, I'm not arachnophobic. I actually like spiders. I just get shivers out of them. Just like about going to the woods at night. I'm more afraid of the fricking big ass centipede that decided to visit me during midnight hours one day.

Oh, I so would like to have one of those big furry spiders as a pet.

@Las Fergus: Sorry, I can't stop laughing at your post xD You just told the story so well.

Thank you lol, I can sometimes be a bit of a drama queen.

Or was it the "1950's Housewife" comparison?

My aunt gave me that nickname for the same reason ... I was sitting watching a scary movie at like 2am at her house (I lived there for a few months). The cat decided to bring in a live mouse and jump up on the couch with me like he always did (I didn't realise he had a mouse). The cat decided to release the mouse onto my lap. I felt a slightly weighty feeling on my crotch, heard frantic squeaking and looked down to see this mouse try and scuttle up my body. I did my spider scream, jumped about 10 feet in the air, and ran to the stool and stood up on top of it, while the mouse scuttled under the big comfy chair. I think I stood on that stool, quivering, for about half an hour til my Aunt came home from drinking (I kinda cried a bit as well, I was sure I was going to get a disease).

Thing is, I had never come into contact with any vermin, rats, mice or anything in my life, so didn't know if i would be scared or not, but obviously I am Razz

Oh and I have to tell you about my Aunts cats, their names are legendary. One is called Montgomery Burns (aka Daddy Puss) because my Aunt's last name is Burns, she thought it would be funny. The next one is Schrodinger (aka Black Puss) because of Schrodinger's experiment or something. Last, but not least, is Entropy (aka Kitteny Pusses) because of the Laws of Entropy (hyperactivity etc). Entropy is my favourite, he was a feral kitten and I tamed him xD <---Proud as punch!

I'm glad I came across the Creepy Crawly thread, 'coz the bastards seem to be out to get me, and apparently makes for entertaining reading Razz

Ants with wings? Great, another insect for me to fear, and I didn't even realise this one existed Sad unless it's a midgie or a mosquito?

These are ants for sure. And they are everywhere. These are about 1cm long so they're not that big anyway.
