That's... thatäs actually a good point. Now I want to know that too! Maybe they're done that way to respect the swordsmiths of old Very Happy

I have a lot of fantasy swords (including Sting), and most of them are not sharpened. A few are though and I'm disappointed because as of yet, I have not come across an orc, ogre, or dragon to use them on. Pity...

Yeah, too bad dragons are extinct. This store sells sharpened ones and non-sharpened ones. The sharpened ones are divided by how you can use them: slight cutting practices, heavy cutting practices and those that are sharpened just to add to the looks.

Nite, I would imagine that some still do make swords as weapons. Remember, the U.S. is only one of few countries that still trust their citizens with firearms and hell, there are alot of people who would like to see that change as well.

I did have a novelty Claymore (the sword, not the explosive) a while back. I tried to throw it and make it stick like BraveHeart... It didn't work so I tried to chop down a tree and broke it. I hate novelty garbage.

I had seen that some time ago and it made me yeat again wonder what's wrong with the buyer? I would've been laughing my ass off and asking for more options Very Happy He must've been really desperate for concealable weapons for some reason.

I'm sure that in the highly likely event of Z-Day that shotgun/tissue box combo would turn out to be quite handy. And the zombies wouldn't even know what hit them.

I think shotguns are like the weapons that represent Zombie-ness.

I'm pretty sure that there's only a few things funnier than shooting a zombie with a shotgun.

Anywho, I'm still fairly sure I'll be going around town with swords.

Shotguns are good for some close range stuff, unless you use slugs that is. I agree with Regen bout the rifle. I would prefer a nice intermediate cartridge with low recoil and good penetration that is accurate... Oh, and ammo small enough to comfortably carry a metric shit ton of it. I'll take an AR in 5.56/.223 with a red dot and back up iron sights, please.

Shotguns are crowd control. What do you need in a zombie apocalypse? Crowd control.

Crowd control with humans, yes.... Zombies, not so much. If you are of the school of thought that believes only headshots will DEanimate a zombie, shotguns become highly ineffective past about 50 yards with conventional shotgun loads. This of course does not apply to slugs.

You hit a zombie in the chest with scatter shot you know what happens? You have a zombie with alot of little holes in his shirt and skin and he will keep coming. Shot patterns do not spread nearly as much as people think and you do have to aim them believe it or not.

Hmm, Shotgun close counters. Something like 3 or 4 zombies in a hall and I get
close up to them and give 'em a headshot. MK23 in general, obviously I'd have to be
ace on aim. I want a zombie invasion now! D:

in a zombie situation a shotgun would be useful indoors...outside I would use a combination of AR's, rifles, and pistols...shotguns would be useless outside for zombies unless up close...Bob did a good job explaning why

Not to mention if you are using slugs for long range, the recoil is still pretty substantial and the bulk of the ammo makes it impractical to carry large quantities of it. For every 50 rounds of 12 guage you carry, you could carry 150 rounds of something like .223 or other intermediate rifle calibers.

I'm not knocking shotguns, I love them. My custom built Mossberg 500, that I built from the frame up, is one of the most fun weapons I have. But still, If poo hits the fan, I'm grabbing a rifle... They are far more versatile all in all.

the amount of ammo you have on you could mean life or death when it comes to zombies...I know I wouldnt want to be lugging around 50 or so shells

Get a nice automatic weapon and just aim at head level and go back and forth. Then watch as the n00b you are with shoots them in the chest and get chomp owned. Stupid nub.

What if their weak spot was like somewhere else? Maybe a certain organ in he body which
is stupidly hard to get. That's going to be a competition.
